Race day is almost here and as you prepare for the event, here a few reminders for parking, packet pickup and questions you might have.
Packet pickup: Friday, September 15
4-7 p.m. at the Queen City Running, on Baraga Avenue in downtown Marquette. (near UP Children’s Museum and Marquette Baking Company). Packet pickup will also take place on Saturday morning starting at 8:30 a.m.
Race Schedule: Saturday, September 16
8:30 a.m. Packet pickup and day of registration starts at Little Presque Isle Park near the start/finish line area.
9:00 a.m. 5 Mile Hike Start time. Start begins near the finish line at Little Presque Isle Park.
9:30 a.m. – Early start for half-marathon runners. If you think you need more than two and a half hours to run the course, please start at this time.
10:00 a.m. – Half-Marathon Start near the finish line at Little Presque Isle Park. Awards following the race.
10:05 a,m. – 5k Start. Awards following the race.
12:00 p.m. – Kids 1 kilometer race.
Parking:
There is considerable parking inside Little Presque Isle Park, so please follow parking attendants who will direct you where the open spots are located. To park at Little Presque Isle Park and at any DNR State of Michigan areas a $11 In State Annual Recreation Passport sticker is required. Fee for out of state residents is $9 daily/$32 annually for those residing out of state. There will also be road side parking on 550.
Relay Parking/Exchange Zone:
The relay exchange zone is about 3/4 to a full mile from the start/finish line. It is a nice warm up jog down Harlow Lake road for the second and third runners in the relay teams. Relay runners can also park close to the exchange zone on Harlow Lake Road, or bring a bike and pedal the distance to the exchange zone. The exchange zone is also an aid station.
